Emergency Dispatching

When residents call or text 9-1-1 with an emergency, a communications operator will ask questions to better understand how to assist them. Operators are qualified to give callers instructions over the phone to help them in medical situations, as they wait for emergency responders to arrive. This may include CPR Instructions or the Heimlich Maneuver.

Please remember, when calling with an emergency, remain calm and stay on the line.  Operators will dispatch responders to your specified location. The more information you can give, the more prepared responders will be.

If you have dialed 9-1-1 in error, please do not hang up. Please stay on the line and let the operator know it is a misdial.
